- Have you ever seen these before? This is an old-time
form of embroidery that is worked with a tiny rug hooking, punch-type needle, a fabric base
and embroidery floss or a fine perle cotton thread. It can be done with 1-6 strands
of embroidery floss. I generally work with an over dyed fine perle cotton and/or 3
strands of embroidery floss. I use a base of imported linen, and sometimes homespun
cottons for a backround. My table-penny rugs are mounted on
wool, and the pennies are wool.
-
- I take pride in bringing a Folk Art spin to my original
designs, instead of the boring florals that were usually made using this process.
Most of these little treasures can take anywhere from 2 to 10 hours, depending on
size.
I invite you to view and enjoy these little art
pieces, and share
in the joy that they bring to me!
